Troubleshooting

The microphone isn't working

Permission, transcription failures, and when to type instead.

Pressing the mic does nothing, and Chrome never asked

Why: Microphone access was refused earlier. Chrome remembers a refusal and stops asking.

Fix: Reset it in Chrome's site settings for the extension, then press the mic again.

“Couldn’t make that out — try again.”

Why: The audio arrived but nothing intelligible came back — background noise, or a very short clip.

Fix: Speak a full sentence, and pause clearly at the end. The pause is what ends your turn.

“That was a long one — try again in shorter pieces.”

Why: The clip exceeded the size the transcriber accepts.

Fix: Break it into separate asks. Shorter turns also let you correct course sooner.

“Voice input isn’t available right now — type it instead.”

Why: The transcription service is unavailable. Everything else works.

Fix: Type the ask. Voice is an input method, not a separate feature.

Saying “go ahead” did not start the plan

Why: That plan contains a step that submits, publishes, sends or spends.

Fix: Start it by hand. That gate deliberately does not accept a spoken instruction.
