Getting started

Install Tabruns and pin it

Where to get it, and why pinning is the first thing to do.

Tabruns is a Chrome extension. It needs Chrome 116 or newer, because that is the version that introduced the side panel it lives in.

Tabruns is not on the Chrome Web Store yet. Until the listing exists, the install buttons on this site point at the repository, which has the steps for loading it unpacked.

A freshly installed extension hides behind Chrome's puzzle-piece button, which means every use starts with two clicks and a hunt. Pinning costs one action and removes that forever.

  1. Click the puzzle piece in Chrome's toolbar, to the right of the address bar.
  2. Find Tabruns in the list.
  3. Click the pin beside it. The Tabruns mark now sits in the toolbar.

Opening the panel

Click the Tabruns mark, or press Alt+T from any page. The shortcut works whether or not the extension is pinned, and you can change it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
