Insurers and network status
List each insurer you bill and mark it in or out of network. That decides which fee an estimate starts from.
Updated November 4, 2026
Add insurers on the Prices and insurers page, each with an In network or Out of network choice. Name them the way the portal does, such as “Delta Dental” or “MetLife”: Tabruns matches the portal page to your insurer by name.
| In network | Out of network | |
|---|---|---|
| Fee the estimate starts from | That insurer's contracted fee | The plan's usual fee, if staff type it; otherwise your office fee |
| What the office charges | The contracted fee | Your office fee |
| What the patient owes | The rest of the contracted fee | The rest of your fee, including the gap above the plan's fee |
The panel picks the patient's insurer for you when the portal's name matches one of yours. The first time it reads a page from an insurer that isn't on your list, it asks Is your office in network with that insurer, once, and adds it to your list with your answer. If the insurer is on your list under another name, pick it from Or pick one of your insurers.
Tapped the wrong answer? Open the panel's Settings. Under Insurers you work with, tap In network or Out next to that insurer.
