Allow Tabruns to read insurer portals

Chrome asks once, the first time you press Read this page.

Updated November 4, 2026

The first time you press Read this page, Chrome asks for one permission: to read web pages. Press Allow. Chrome doesn't ask again on that computer. Try it on a practice patient first if you'd rather not see the prompt with a patient at the desk.

Chrome's prompt says Tabruns can “Read and change all your data on all websites”. That's Chrome's standard wording for any extension that may read pages on more than one site. Tabruns asks for it because offices use many different insurer portals, and a list of portal addresses would miss some.

What the permission lets it do

  • Read the tab you have open, and only when you press Read this page. It never reads in the background, on its own, or in other tabs.
  • It never changes a page, and never signs in, clicks or types on the portal.
  • Press Read this page only on an insurer's benefits page. Anything else it finds, it ignores.

If you pressed Deny

Press Read this page again and choose Allow. The panel says what to do.

Turning it off

Open chrome://extensions, choose Details under Tabruns, and change Site access. Tabruns asks again the next time you press Read this page.
