Messages the side panel shows, and what to do
Every message the panel shows when something stops it, word for word, with the fix.

“Tabruns needs your OK to read the portal page. Press Read this page again and choose Allow.”
Why: Chrome's permission to read insurer portals was declined or turned off.
Fix: Press Read this page again and choose Allow. See portal access.
“This page isn't an insurer portal Tabruns can read yet. Open the patient's benefits page, then press Read this page.”
Why: The tab in front can't be read, such as a new tab, a Chrome settings page or a PDF.
Fix: Click the portal's tab so it's the one in front, then press Read this page again. See when the page can't be read.
“Couldn't find benefits on this page. Open the patient's benefits or eligibility page, then read again.”
Why: The page has no benefits Tabruns can find: a search screen, a claim, a page still loading, or a portal laid out in a way it can't read yet.
Fix: Open the patient's benefits or eligibility page, wait for it to finish loading, and press Read this page again.
“This computer can't run Chrome's built-in AI.”
Why: The computer doesn't meet the needs of Chrome's on-device AI. See on-device AI reading.
Fix: Nothing is broken. On portals Tabruns reads fully, nothing changes. See when the page can't be read.
“No coverage found on this page”
Why: The page was read, but it showed no coverage percentages: often a search or summary page rather than the benefits.
Fix: Open the patient's benefits on the portal and press Read this page again.
“A different patient is open”
Why: You read a page for another patient after adding treatment for the first.
Fix: Press New estimate for the new patient, or Keep this one to stay on it.
“isn't a tooth number. Use 1 to 32, or A to T for baby teeth.”
Why: The tooth typed after a code isn't a real tooth.
Fix: Retype it as 1 to 32, or A to T.
“Add the tooth number.”
Why: The service is done on one tooth, and the tooth box is empty.
Fix: Type the tooth, 1 to 32 or A to T, and press Add to the estimate. See adding services.
“More than one service matches. Pick one from the list.”
Why: A name such as “filling” matches several services on your list.
Fix: Pick the right one from the list under the box, or type its code.
The panel asks “What is D2740?” or “What do you charge”
Why: It's the first time your office uses that code or service, so it isn't on your price list yet.
Fix: Type its name and your fee right there and press Add to the estimate. It's saved for every computer in the office, and not asked again.
“Start your 7-day free trial” in the side panel
Why: The panel is signed in, but the office account has no trial or plan running.
Fix: Choose Monthly or Yearly, press Start free trial and finish checkout in the new tab. The panel opens by itself. See the free trial.
“Your sign-in ended. Sign in again.”
Why: This computer's sign-in expired or was signed out.
Fix: Type the office email, press Email me a code, then type the code. See signing the panel in.
“Couldn't copy. Click in the panel and try again.”
Why: Chrome only lets the panel use the clipboard while the panel has focus.
Fix: Click anywhere in the panel, then press the copy button again.
“This handout couldn't be opened. Make it again from the side panel.”
Why: The handout tab was reloaded or its address was cut short.
Fix: Go back to the panel and press Print a handout again.
